Details:

I've just dowloaded 
http://download.savannah.gnu.org/releases/avr-libc/avr-libc-1.4.3.tar.bz2

and after running bootstrap avr/lib was erased, but
/devtools/gen-avr-lib-tree.sh is missing in the tar archive.
I can see it in the CVS and will try it out, but if we should be able to use
bootstrap we seem to need the missing script.

Anyway, sed'ing out the offending lines:
rm -rf avr/lib
./devtools/gen-avr-lib-tree.sh

renders compile success. Not tested on HW yet.
