Hello!
Shoot, I forgot to mention a couple of fundamental things:
the OS is Win98SE, the programmer is pony-STK200 (therefore, parallel port).
And I would also like to point out that the programmer was working fine for
two weeks, until I left the computer unused on for several hours.
Somebody asked if I can try the native win32 port of avrdude. Well, I can do
this, but you have to understand that this is not exactly an easy to reporduce
problem. Nonetheless, I can go and try it, just let me know exactly which
version of the native port I should use, as I remember there were a few, back
when I was trying them (and I remember being extremely satisfied, but in the
ensuing confusion about the various versions, I decided to go back to the
official release).
