I wonder if my problem is related to the one reported July 2004 in this

The avrdude version in WinAVR is a cvs version and no source is given, so
i can't check if the patch is already in there. But i don't have the tools
to compile avrdude for windows. So can anyone supply me with a windows
version of avrdude which incorporates the above mentioned patch? I would
be very thankful.
