Sorry, it's not quite clear to me what you are actually
suggesting. As of AVRDUDE 5.2, the -U option can already
be simplified, so instead of saying
-U flash:w:foo.hex:a
you can just say
-U foo.hex
You're right, if your filename contains a CP/M drive letter,
you still need to use the full specification. Depending on
the environment, it might be possible to avoid these drive
letters completely though, I think for a Cygwin compilation,
you could replace "c:/" by "/cygdrive/c/", and for a MinGW
compilation, using "/c/" should work, but I'm not a Win32
expert.
If you explain a bit more about what your wish is, we can
see what could be done.
