Follow-up Comment #6, bug #60575 (project avrdude):
In order to simplify life for everybody, I have set up a brew formula. So,
assuming you have already installed homebrew, you only have to type:
brew uninstall avrdude
which will remove your current avrdude homebrew binary. And then type:
brew install --HEAD felias-fogg/arduino/avrdude
This will install the official version from the avrdude trunk (after
downloading the hidapi package). In other words, you now should have a avrdude
version located in /usr/local/bin that can connect to the Atmel-ICE. You may
want to symlink the Arduino version of avrdude to this binary.
