Others will respond, I'm sure, but I wanted to mention that there's a
package in ELPA called just "vcard", which parses vcard files or buffers
into simple Elisp structures.

The idea was to eventually write adapters for various packages like
BBDB, fully converting the structures into BBDB vectors or what have
you, but of course I haven't gotten to that part yet. But if you'd like
to play with some code, that's an option.
