That would be nice, but there currently is no cross-platform or
cross-vender mechanism for this. AFAIK, on Linux the X RandR extension
does not support this, and even if it did, the graphics drivers would
have to implement it. On Windows, one would have to use a driver
specific solution, e.g. the proprietary NVIDIA driver access API, but
this is no solution for free software.
