There for we would need an Mac(and an really skilled Developer) and a different license(LGPL instead of GPL if we want to use the Appstore), because Apple only alows non Opensourced Apps(you would have  to publish the source code due to GPL ) See VLC and iphone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VLC_media_player.
