[Bug-AUCTeX] 2005-05-21; Strange backslash chars in math menus

Some entries in the math menu include strange chars instead of normal
backslashes for the command names.  Here is an example where you can
see both variants:

Does anybody else see this?

Frankly, I don't know if this is a problem of AUCTeX, Emacs or GTK+.
