Thanks again,
Running gswin32c.exe gives me the GS> prompt in MSYS. And with the -h
option I get reasonable response.
Any more ideas?
How do I report this to the bug report discussions? Do you
think this is a bug or a problem with my init files?

Running `Preview-Ghostscript' with ``"GSWIN32C.EXE"
"-dOutputFile=(circ.prv/

Perfectly normal until this point, and then your
machine appears to
lock up. My guess is that preview-latex is waiting
for the prompt
"GS>" from the Ghostscript executable and never gets
it.
Could you open a shell window and
call
GSWIN32C.EXE
manually? Do you get to see a prompt? What
is the prompt like?

Looks fine so far.
Ghostscript is in the PATH and has the necessary
capabilities.
So I
think something must be wrong with the prompt.
