Release tag for 1.6a missing from automake repository

Trying to track down problems with a configure script I updated autoconf
from 2.52 to 2.53.  When I built it, I was warned about missing aclocal and
automake 1.6a.  Figuring I ought to update to avoid problems, I checked
automake out of CVS.  "cvs log README" showed no 1.6a snapshot, though
version.texi suggests that's the latest release.  Am I missing something or
did a 1.6a release get cut without taking a snapshot of the CVS repository?
