I just installed automake-1.6 on my sparc station running linux-2.2.19
and stable debian. I'm also running autoconf-2.52 (I'm upgrading to
2.53, but right now I'm waiting for its testsuite to complete, so it's
not installed yet).
I ran make check, which took an *awful* lot of time on this machine.
Four testcases failed, namely:
cond5.test, pr211.test, pr300-lib.test, pr300-prog.test.
The first seems to test for a hanging automake by waiting 15 seconds,
so that *might* be just my machine that is too slow. But the other
three tests that failed don't have any timing issues as far as I can
see.
Anything I can do to help you track down the bugs? I'm not familiar
with automake internals, nor with perl.
Best regards,
/Niels
