Hello!
I compiled recently automake-1.7.1 using autoconf-2.55 and "make check"
delivered seven failed tests (2 tests were not run).
The machine (under SuSE 7.0) is the following:
uname -a:
Linux btcipmatx13 2.2.16 #1 Thu Oct 19 21:12:48 CEST 2000
i686 unknown
I issued the following commands after unpacking:
./configure --prefix=/share/lib/automake-1.7.1
--exec-prefix=/share/lib/automake-1.7.1
--oldincludedir=/share/lib/automake-1.7.1/old/include
./configure --prefix=/share/lib/autoconf-2.55 \
--exec-prefix=/share/lib/autoconf-2.55 \
--oldincludedir=/share/lib/autoconf-2.55/old/include
make
No errors up to here, but then seven tests fail while issuing:
make check
Below you will find the messages "make check" (all other tests passed):
XFAIL: auxdir2.test
XFAIL: cond17.test
FAIL: libtool3.test
FAIL: nobase.test
FAIL: pr300-ltlib.test
FAIL: pr307.test
SKIP: python3.test
XFAIL: subdir5.test
SKIP: subobj9.test
FAIL: suffix8.test
FAIL: suffix10.test
FAIL: texinfo13.test
7 of 431 tests failed
(2 tests were not run)
Please report to address@hidden
By the way, there are two tests marked with XFAIL which
are not counted as failed tests ... .
Hope you will find the problem, I got no more information from "make".
Best regards
Robert
