If foo_SOURCES references sources files that are not in the current
directory then automake generate wrong dependencies with the ansi2knr
option. For example, if Makefile.am contains:
AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS = ansi2knr
bin_PROGRAMS = foo
foo_SOURCES = foobar/foo.c
then the generated Makefile.in has foo$U.o depending on foo$U.c, which
cannot be built if $U is empty.
