Automake-1.8.3: Test failure - instspc.test

I noticed a failure on "make check" when compiling the latest automake
version, 1.8.3.  It was on the test "instspc.test", which appears to test
the new feature of support for space characters in installation paths.

Not much information was present in the "nohup.out" file tracking the
self-check -- just a "FAIL: instspc.test" line among the many tests, and
a message to contact bug-automake at the end.

(hope that's enough, automake interacts with a lot of stuff...)
