Could you post the full output of these two commands?
This release installs its info files in PREFIX/share/info instead of
PREFIX/info as in older releases. Would it be possible that you were
confused by this change and though "make install" didn't install info
files?
Yes, it would be possible -- in fact that's what happened.
We package all locally-installed software and then install it as a
package, so when files move or disappear, we notice immediately.
I don't see this change of location mentioned in the Changelog or NEWS.
Am I missing it, or is it not documented?
