Verizon Wireless, the nation's leading wireless service provider, received the Employment Management Association (EMA) Creative Excellence Award for "Best Diversity Campaign in 2004" in honor of the company's "Own Your Career" advertising campaign.
The series of print ads, which were issued throughout 2004, focused on Verizon Wireless' support of its employees' personal lives, as well as professional development, and the company's efforts to create a healthy working environment for all employees, including working women and mothers. Verizon Wireless worked with NAS Recruitment Communications to develop these ads.
"Advertising is one of the ways we attract the industry's best talent," said Martha Delehanty, vice president - human resources. "We work to communicate our commitment to diversity and our outstanding career opportunities in a clear, creative way, so we can continue to attract qualified people who help us provide our customers with the best wireless experience."
