cd // ; pwd

Hi,
after running cd // I am in the directory // and not / !
I saw this with GNU bash, version 2.05.1(1)-release
(i586-mandrake-linux-gnu).
A friend of mine reported the same behaviour with GNU bash, version
1.14.7(1).
