Cannot clone from anonymous git

When I try to clone:

|  dualbus@hp ~ % git clone git://git.savannah.gnu.org/bash.git
|  Cloning into 'bash'...
|  fatal: Could not read from remote repository.
|  
|  Please make sure you have the correct access rights
|  and the repository exists.
