Hi,I don't think bash 5 has hit Debian sid yet. As for "commercial" UNIX like Solaris, well, that platform is on life support and a nightmare to deal with. So no sense in wasting time there anymore.I'm sorry to hear that Solaris is a nightmare. Solaris 11.4 (the current supported version) has bash 5 already included
Way way OT. Solaris 11 is a nightmare. A total freak show nightmare. Given that I was on the OpenSolaris Governance Board then I think I can safely say I have tried to work with it. Total disaster nightmare given that there is no sparc hardware left to work with. None. All the old stuff will run Solaris 10 but even with a support contract it is a nightmare. Sorry, I know SunOS and Solaris all the way down to the sources and just .... nope. You don't get another second of my life. John Fowler has left the building and all the great Solaris guys were taken to the chemical shed and shot. Oracle Solaris is a dead product. Good luck getting the userbase back. Oracle did *everything* to kill it. -- Dennis Clarke RISC-V/SPARC/PPC/ARM/CISC UNIX and Linux spoken GreyBeard and suspenders optional
