This is certainly an interesting puzzle!
The subsequent editions of the book included this material, variously as part of one of the early chapters or as a standalone appendix. The secret is to choose "Make Plain Text" from the Format menu before you try to save the file.
I found it extremely helpful and easy to understand as I knew nothing about HTML before reading your book.
How can I get it back? It's always nice to hear from an enthused reader! A problem with becoming comfortable and adept with something is one tends to forget there is always more to learn.
And will I continue encountering problems as I go through your book since I'm working on a Mac, and the book is written from the perspective of PC users? This brings up two columns. Exactly how do you make the internet pay? Check those and see if you invoke the script from within one of those.
In addition to what the title implies, it covers design techniques, traffic building, CGI, _javascript_, and RSS. I borrowed your book from the public library and they told me that there were "no disks available". This brings up files in the left-hand column.
