[Bug swing/24335] New: DocumentEvents contain the wrong information

The testcase attached shows that we are attaching an ElementChange to
DocumentEvents when we should not be. 

Expected output: 
insert
java.lang.NullPointerException

Actual output:
insert

added: 1
