isn't that just painting over a bigger problem, it looks to me like a
mis-conception with other issues, check the getoutputstream() method and the
definitions of getfile() and getpath(), but it also looks like its isolated to
the two stream methods so could be really easy to fix, i'll look tomorrow, if
i'm wrong i'll find out then.

BTW it would also be nice to get rid of CWD because things have to wait for the
remote end to confirm.

test case would be nice, but how do you do it without an ftp server!
