Try opening any JMenu or JPopupMenu with multiple menuitems.
Moving the mouse through the menu will highlight the correct menu item
at the mouse position. Now move the mouse down to just outside the menu
(the menu correctly stays open, and the bottom item is de-highlighted).
Now move the mouse up right back into the still open menu.
Notice that the bottom menu item is now not highlighted. Usually, one
can still select the menuitem in question, but the missing highlighting
is rather irritating. (I am also pretty sure that it was impossible to
select the non-hightlighted menuitem, but I cannot reproduce this with
cp cvs 2006.03.30 anymore).
The user has first to move the mouse to another menuitem
before the bottom menuitem becomes active again. The same happens for
the topmost menuitem or intermediate menuitems when the user accidently
leaves the menu with the menuitem selected.
For testcases, use any application with menus or popups, e.g. my testcases
for bugs #23527 (jmenu with accelerators) or #24651 (b).
