[Bug awt/28000] New: rendering regression in chess applet

My favorite applet has a rendering regression with the latest
classpath and java2d work.  I don't know when this regression
was introduced.

When I run this with classpath cvs head + jamvm, the background
of each square on the board is not shown.  (The background for
a given square may briefly be rendered when a piece passes over
it, but then it reverts to white.)

This worked in gcc 4.1.
