AFAICS, this has nothing to do with the TextLayout cache. The problem as I see
it is the way how the DefaultMetalTheme caches the fonts, which only queries
the properties once and creates the appropriate font, and in all future
requests returns this font, regardless of a changing property. I fixed this in
CVS. I also enabled the system property with the same name. Please retest and
close if OK.
