Tested current cvs right now. Running a slide show in the background
(with delay of 750 msecs between images, at cpu load of <= 50%) on jamvm
-Xmx300m still crashed with SEGV after 397 medium-sized images... 
Memory usage as reported by top quickly exceeded 300m RSS, and then
stayed in the 250..350M range for some time. The X server reports 
another 150 MB. I only have 512M real, with 1G swap.

I ran this test with ctwm as my windowmanager, with Niffler being 
_invisible_ on one of the inactive virtual screens. (My previous testing 
was with actual repaints on the currently visible virtual screen.)

Are you sure that the leak is fixed? If so, it may be yet another 
glitch with ctwm. Will give it another try tomorrow.
