Still no answer on what these errors are.  FWIW, I always build with
--enable-Werror (so wasn't aware it was the default, and I don't think that's
always been the case) and I've not experienced any problems recently on
GNU/Liux with either x86_64 or ppc64 archs as I recall.

I'll change this to waiting for now in the hope that we get a list of errors.
