Current 0.98 implementation not follow to the Escher API, previous or current.
Both escher-0.2.3 (according to doc/cp-hacking guide) and escher-0.3 not
supported.
I'm proposing the simple patch, that fix build and run of classpath-0.98
against escher-0.3 (and escher-svn).
This patch was tested and work for me on Debian 5.0 (i386) and OpenInkpot 0.2
(armel) distributions with Jamvm JVM on
-Dawt.toolkit=gnu.java.awt.peer.x.XToolkit.
To test X Awt peer, you must remove "-nolisten TCP" from XServer start script.
