That was fixed in coreutils-5.1.0.
Here's the entry from the NEWS file:

** Bug fixes
  ...
  od -c -w9999999 no longer segfaults

I recommend the latest test release:

  ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/coreutils/coreutils-5.1.2.tar.bz2

Or wait a day or so for the bug-fix-only 5.1.3 release.
