Unable to build current CVS: coreutils.pot not built

(I hope this list is the right place to report bugs in current CVS.)

I got a clean checkout, configured with './configure' and tried to
build with 'make'.  The build fails with

If you want I can send the whole build log, config.log and so on.  I
am running Red Hat Linux 9 but with some updated packages including
coreutils-5.2.0.
