hi,
If my system has a spun down drive, df actually checks with the drive to see
how much space it has left on it.
This could be an acpi problem.. (probably is)
but.. it's a big problem for me, as I have a noisy disk that spins up
needlessly... and df is one of my most used commands, because I use a lot of
disk space, and am constantly shuffling stuff around.
a wiki page is up for my bugs/ system requirements in my ultimate system. This
is one of them now..
suggestion:
when running the df command, the spun down hard drives should be noted with a
message that they are off, and show the last known value? (value should be
taken right before hard drive spins down)
it should skip the turned off hd's and have an option to spin up the hd's that
are turned off..
e.g. df -spinup

Thanks.
