sort bug? |

Hi,
When using sort (provided with coreutils-4.5.3 but I can't see any updates
in later versions that would fix this), I get the following set of lines as
being supposedly sorted:
"ad" "NN+nounmod+N" "tobacco" 1
"ad" "NN+nounmod+N" "tv" 13
"ad" "NN+nounmod+N" "wheat" 1
"adn" "NN+subject+V" "beed" 1
"ad" "NN+object+V" "accept" 1
"ad" "NN+object+V" "afford" 1
"ad" "NN+object+V" "alter" 1
"ad" "NN+object+V" "answer" 2
"ad" "NN+object+V" "assess" 1
"ad" "NN+object+V" "create" 1
Is there a reason why the line containing "adn" is in the middle of the
"ad" lines, or is this a bug? Incidentally, I have tried using sort -d as
well as sort and get the same thing. Also, I have used sort on unix and
under cygwin, and don't get this effect, the "adn" line is placed last (as
I would expect).
Thanks very much,
Julie
