Happy to have helped.  But note that the man says:

       NOTE:  your  shell may have its own version of pwd which will supersede
       the version described here. Please refer to your shell's documentation
       for details about the options it supports.

Basically just a pointer.  But what else is there to say?

Ah, that explains it.  I am using to seeing version numbers like this:

  /bin/pwd --version
  pwd (GNU coreutils) 5.3.0

And of course the built-in does not use that option.

No problem at all.  The rule is "See one, Do one, Teach one."  So now
you need to help someone else with a problem in the future.  :-)
