The 'ls' command has a very useful sort function 'ls --sort=version'.
Recently I was needing to sort a file using that same method. It was
a file of filenames. But the 'sort' command does not implement this
functionality at this time.

I contemplated touching the entire list to create files of those names
in a temporary directory and using ls to print the list in version
sorted order.

It would be reall great if sort also implemented the version sort
functionality.

Thanks
Bob
