It's likely that an NFS mount is hanging in the statfs call. You should
be able to see this by running df under strace.
$ strace -e statfs,statfs64 df
statfs64("/", 84, {f_type="EXT2_SUPER_MAGIC", f_bsize=4096, f_blocks=4828858,
f_bfree=2920424, f_bavail=2675132, f_files=2452800, f_ffree=2200287, f_fsid={0, 0}, f_namelen=255,
f_frsize=4096}) = 0
etc.
