Nor does anyone else. :-) I suggest running your command under strace, e.g.,:
strace -o foo.log /bin/cp -rf /root/update/* /wwwand then looking at foo.log to see what happened. The idea is that you need to create a complete, self-contained test case that will let us reproduce the bug.
