I'm looking into server.c and see a lot of places where the return value of xmalloc() is actually checked for NULL. Looking at subr.c I see that xmalloc() does error(1, ...) if malloc() returned NULL. Am I missing something or should we get rid of a lot of such code from server.c (and other places probably)? --alexm
