The 'cut' operation should have synonyms

This email was originally supposed to be about adding an "echo" or
"print" operation that simply writes a given field to the output without
processing. This is very useful, and I was surprised it was missing.

But then I read the whole manpage, and found that this actually was
available under the non-obvious name "cut". Can we add "print" and/or
"echo" as synonyms for "cut"? Or at least update the docs to talk about
"cut" more prominently? If we have something like "print", then no
documentation is needed.
