Hmm, okay. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I will just revert those commits.
Sounds like they were a bad idea, and I'll just have to think of another way to
do the benchmarking I had in mind.
I can't do the reverts at the second, but in the next day or so.

I blew the dust off of my BSD VMs and discovered that datamash failed to
build on them because of the new rand program using a function they don't
have (getrandom()). I added the needed bits to the list of GNUlib modules
in bootstrap.conf, and then fixed some warnings about deprecated/obsolete
GNUlib and autoconf stuff that bootstrapping whined about.
And now the rand related tests are getting failures on Net and Open BSD,
but I haven't had a chance to dig into why yet.
