Hi,
I'm using
$ diff --version
diff (GNU diffutils) 3.2
as provided by Gentoo Linux.
Is it desired that the string "\ No newline at end of file" is written
to stdout instead of stderr? I would expect that such warnings go to
stderr by default and stdout contains only what I've specified on the
command line.
I must admit that I don't understand why I get this warning at all.
If a particular program can't process files which don't end with "\n",
then the program is completely broken and should be fixed.
Regards,
Reinhard

Microsoft isn't the answer. Microsoft is the question, and the answer is NO.
