Done, but I think duplicate information is an opportunity for future
stale information. :-)
Sure, but it is also good to give information where people are looking
for it. And the web page and mailing list should be stable :).
I think <string> is better.
Why? It leads to confusion among novices about whether to type the <>
characters. I've seen this countless times. That's why using all caps
has been preferred for decades, why @var in Texinfo produces all caps,
etc.
See `gcc --help'.
gcc is notorious for doing things their own way. I believe essentially
every other package uses all caps. It's obviously not a momentous
issue, but I hope you will change it.
