Ah, yes. You need to add them with "darcs add" before, I suppose.
Anyway, my versions of Autotools are newer than yours:
aclocal (GNU automake) 1.10.1
autoconf (GNU Autoconf) 2.63
automake (GNU automake) 1.10.1
Can you update yours (possibly from source if your distribution
doesn't have packages) and check whether it works?
