[bug-gettext] gettext and intltool

Hello,

I'm looking for info about the use of gettext, intltool and autoreconf
together, sorry if this is not the apropiate mailing list.
Nowadays we have to use intltool [1] to extract the translatable
strings from Glade and .desktop files, so seems that the
unique solution is to not use the gettext macros in the configure.ac file.

I've already sent a bug [2] to the intltool package but I'm not very
happy with the reply (I'd like to use the upstream gettext
Makefile.in.in if possible)

Can the .glade and .desktop file formats support be added to upstream gettext?
