The information about the plural rule used for Brazilian Portuguese was
added in 2001, "with information from the translation teams":

The translation team is where we take the information about plural forms,
because grammar books may be outdated and the opinion of individuals may
be biased.
Could you therefore please ask the Brazilian Portuguese translation team
(you find its email address in http://translationproject.org/team/index.html)
whether their majority opinion agrees with your statement?
