Follow-up Comment #1, bug #57060 (project gettext):
It turns out that the loss of '${prefix}' from the installation paths for
javadoc2, (and indeed for all 'docdir' references), was the result of an
under-quoted reference to '${prefix}' in my own pre-configuration scripts,
resulting in premature interpretation. Sorry for any confusion this may have
caused.
The issue of generation of java documentation, in spite of use of
'--disable-java' remains.
