backtrace_symbols no workie.

backtrace_symbols and backtrace_symbols_fd don't seem to work properly in the
glibc-2.1.3-21 from RedHat 6.2 on x86. The only symbol properly resolved is
__libc_start_main. I've seen reports that it works in glibc 2.2. Is there any 
plans on backporting to glibc 2.1? I could really use this function in a
malloc debugger I wrote. (http://fscked.org/proj/njamd.shtml).
