When I build ntp-4.0.99 (http://www.ntp.org/) under the development
version of Debian GNU/Linux (woody), ntpd doesn't run anymore. If ntpd
is build under the stable version (potato) or run in debug mode, ie
without forking the daemon, it does work.
woody currently comes with glibc 2.1.95, potato with glibc 2.1.3.
ntpd calls the function daemon(). Maybe the bug is caused by the
addition of __THROW to the prototype in unistd.h.
Is this a bug in gcc 2.95.2, binutils 2.10.0.27, glibc 2.1.95 or ntpd?
To whom should I send a bug report? Or has this bug already been
reported?
