ld.so bug

Hi,

I am using: glibc v2.2.1 from a binar Debian package.

I am getting the following ld.so output on trying to execute just about
any KDE binary:

BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so: dl-version.c: 217: _dl_check_map_versions:
Assertion `needed != ((void *)0)' failed!

KDE tell me it is an ld.so problem and not their's.

I have tried everything I know and looked everywhere I can to find a
solution to this problem but to no avail. Please help.
