I'm in the process of building a GNU/Linux system completely from sources,
and I'm getting tons of warnings from many of the packages that turn
on -Wpointer-arith, (the warnings coming out of system headers,
bits/string2.h seems prevalent in this regard).
Don't know whether there's anything you can reasonably do about it,
though.
